Employment support

Free and confidential employment advice and support is available to anyone accessing talking therapy with Bradford District and Craven Talking Therapies

Work can be important for your mental health and wellbeing.  Whether you’re currently employed, seeking employment or signed off sick, our team of skilled Employment Advisors can offer personalised support to enable you to remain in work, find work or return to work.  We can provide up to 6 employment support sessions, working closely with you and your therapist to meet your employment needs.

A few of the services include:
  • Person-centred employment support.
  • Planning your return to work options after a period of absence.
  • Helping you to effectively communicate any needs and/or concerns with your employer.
  • Support and guidance in creating a CV or job application, concentrating on your strengths and skills.
  • Effective job searching & interview techniques
  • Job coaching and in work support
  • Training and/or volunteering opportunities.
  • Providing emotional support while attending key meetings at work.
  • Your rights at work, including health and safety, maternity and/or reasonable adjustments.
  • Developing your confidence in the workplace.
  • Advice on discussing you mental health at work.
  • Signposting you to appropriate organisations to access additional advice and assistance, including legal support.

This service is voluntary and will not affect your therapy if you decide it’s not right for you at this time.

How do I access Talking Therapies employment support?

If you’re accessing the Talking Therapies service, you are able to book in with our Employment Advisor team.

You will be asked about employment support in your initial assessment. If you think you would benefit from employment support, please let your assessor know and they will book you in with an advisor.
